Family-Friendly Condos: The Best Place to Raise a Family in Miami Beach

As more families move to Florida, the communities in and around Miami Beach have become a popular place for many people to raise a family. When families with children relocate to Miami, they seek safety, decent schools, and walkability, as well as the ability to visit a park or the beach on a day off or after school. The South of Fifth neighborhood delivers all of this, and more.

Although not a community for single-family houses, the South of Fifth neighborhood offers unique and high-end condos, many of which have three or more bedrooms to accommodate a family. The neighborhood has a fantastic public elementary school, and if you have older children, you can quickly access the causeway to travel to the greatest private schools in the city.

Of course, the beach is accessible by foot from South of Fifth, and some of the condos provide beach service for their residents. Other attractions include South Pointe Park, a great place for families to unwind, and the oceanfront Marjory Stoneman Douglas Park, which has a playground and beach access.

Many families like the Continuum in South Beach because it offers the best amenities for the entire family, along with the convenience of beach living. Kids and teenagers of all ages can run around freely and safely on the 13 acres of land provided by Continuum. As a major factor, the quality of concierge services is second only to security.

Enjoy These Bars in Miami Beach All Summer Long!

Several new bars and restaurants have sprung up as a result of the growing popularity of craft cocktails. The question is how can you narrow down your options when there are so many to choose from? Here are a few ideas, some of which you may already be familiar with.

The Broken Shaker

The Broken Shaker on Indian Creek began as a pop-up bar in 2012 before rapidly expanding to become one of Miami Beach’s most popular hangouts. Its drink menu changes seasonally and is crafted with only the freshest ingredients. There are also a variety of small plates to choose from, such as the Cuban sandwich or Korean chicken fingers. All of this is enhanced by the tranquil atmosphere of its backyard sanctuary.

Clevelander South Beach

On Ocean Drive, you will find The Clevelander South Beach. As the sun sets, the action intensifies; feel the adrenaline on the dance floor while drinking a cocktail and admiring the breathtaking cityscapes. It is also an excellent venue to watch sporting events on its massive LED screen.

Mac’s Club Deuce

Mac’s Club Deuce is a Miami Beach institution where you can play pool, listen to music on the jukebox, and have a wonderful time. The bar has preserved its long-standing traditions, such as two-for-one beverages from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., since its inception in the 1960s.

How to Celebrate Father’s Day in Miami

In honor of all the wonderful fathers in our lives, on the third Sunday in June we celebrate Father’s Day. Here are some of our favorite ways to celebrate with Dadi:

Play a Round of Golf

Treat Dad to a day of golf. Crandon Golf Key Biscayne is a mangrove-lined championship course that has been rated as one of the best in the country. Another excellent alternative is the Miami Beach Golf Club, a historic 18-hole, par-72 course with an Art Deco clubhouse in the middle of Miami Beach. Treat your father to one of two championship 18-hole golf courses at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa Golf Course in Aventura, which is located a bit further north. After that, visit the golf course’s signature restaurant and bar, CORSAIR Kitchen & Bar. If he doesn’t want to play 18 holes, take him to Topgolf Doral for an afternoon of hitting balls and playing point-scoring games.

Take a Father’s Day Fishing Cruise

Deering Estate will conduct its annual Father’s Day Fishing Cruise on Sunday, June 19. The Pelican Island Skipper, a 45-foot catamaran, will take you on a three-hour fishing trip. Naturalists from Deering Estate are on board to teach guests about maritime life and native birds. While some rods and equipment are supplied, guests are advised to bring their own. Bait will be available.

The Father’s Day Marketplace

Make time for this Liberty City event, where Dad may enjoy food trucks, cocktails, spa services, pop-up shops, cigars, and more. June 19th, 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Explore Oleta River State Park

Take your father to Oleta River State Park in North Miami Beach if he enjoys outdoor activities. This protected river estuary, which includes more than 1,000 acres of green space and tidal mangroves, is considered Florida’s largest urban park. You can stay in one of 14 rustic, air-conditioned cabins overnight or just spend the day kayaking, biking, hiking, and swimming.

The Best Brunch Spots in Miami

Brunch has become an essential meal of the weekend for Miami residents — and, when done properly, the most enjoyable. While these weekend gatherings can range from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the restaurant, Miami has enough options to allow you to get up early or sleep in. Here are a few of our favorite brunch spots in Miami.

Icebox Cafe

For more than two decades, this Miami Beach institution has been a favored neighborhood dining place for its excellent brunch. Here, a modern American menu with global influences that includes homemade granola, guava-filled french toast, and lemon ricotta pancakes for the restaurant’s weekend brunch. Bottomless bloody Marys, mimosas, and rosé are all available for two hours. Brunch is offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Glass and Vine

The Coconut Grove restaurant in the center of Peacock Park, which features one of the city’s top outdoor patios, has upped its brunch game with weekend brunch every day of the week. Toast Monday with a glass of bubbly and savory brunch favorites like surf-and-turf eggs benedict and a chicken-topped mediterranean salad, as well as a dulce de leche belgian waffle and cornflake-crusted french toast. Brunch is provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Pinch Kitchen + Bar

Enter Pinch, where the menu consists of an eclectic collection of mismatched pieces that, when combined, make a delightful meal. Start with the “K-Town” kimchi-spiked guacamole, then move on to steak and eggs, fried chicken, guava-stuffed french toast, chicken ‘n’ waffles, or a cold smoked salmon sandwich. Don’t forget about the famous Pinch burger. Brunch is offered from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Joia Beach

During Joia Beach’s Sunday Funday weekend brunch, guests can expect a party atmosphere. Guests seated in the beach-themed dining area will be treated to rosé and magnums of champagne, all while being entertained by live DJs and dancing. Waffles, filet mignon and eggs as well as a smoked salmon bagel tower are all on the brunch menu. Sunday brunch is provided from noon until 5 p.m.
