Aside from the fantastic views and close proximity to the beach, one of the best things about the Continuum South Beach’s prime South of Fifth location is the abundance of great eateries and bars around every corner. The area is known for hosting a large and ever-growing number of five-star venues that cater to almost every taste and preference.
 
The newest tantalizing option on the scene is 27, which actually opened in November but has recently garnered the attention of media outlets like the New York Times for its quality. Located just a few steps from lively Ocean Drive, 27 is situated within a classic Art Deco building from the 1930s, and newly renovated to accommodate comfy dining.
 
When it comes to dining out, atmosphere matters, and 27 certainly doesn’t disappointment. Enlisting the services noted interior design firm Roman & Williams, it offers an intimate and inviting ambiance characterized by wood flooring, candlelit tables, and low ceilings. The interconnected rooms evoke the sense of being in a famous dinner party, yet the style lacks any pretentiousness.
 
This welcoming motif reflects 27’s goal of celebrating Miami Beach’s diversity, catering to all backgrounds and cultures. It is actually part of a larger complex that includes a hostel and craft cocktail bar. Cocktails are best sampled before or after dinner in the restaurant’s elegant and relaxing courtyard.
 
This mission can be seen in the restaurant’s eclectic menu, which reflects such varied influences as Jewish, Caribbean, and Cuban cuisine.  There are potato latkes with homemade sour cream; Cuban-style oxtail stew, homemade arepas with string meat, and much more. One especially popular dish is golden tilefish special with coconut-curry broth, Israeli couscous and avocado.
