Where to Go for the Best Sunset Views in Miami

Miami is a stunning city, especially after sunset. From Key Biscayne to Miami Beach, here are some of the best spots in Miami to view the sunset.

Rusty Pelican
One of Miami’s most recognizable restaurants is the Rusty Pelican. This well-liked restaurant is ideal for sunset because of its exquisite waterfront location and floor to ceiling windows with stunning views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami. Take in the sights of the sparkling bay while sipping an agave sunset margarita.

South Pointe Park
The park, as its name suggests, protrudes outward along South Beach’s southernmost tip. It is a beautifully designed park featuring play areas, water elements, and public artwork. Along with the jetty, there is a beautiful pier with panoramic views of the Downtown cityscape and South Beach skyline. It is breathtaking at any time of day, and even more so at sunset.

The Lido Bayside Grill
The Lido Bayside Grill at The Standard is a wonderful waterfront location for sunset, with bright yellow umbrellas, a lovely crowd, and expansive views of Biscayne Bay. The menu offers a variety of appetizers and entrees, some with a healthy focus and others with a Latin influence, as well as inventive cocktails to go with them. Sunset comes with the added perk of happy hour pricing until 6 p.m. and is located on the Venetian Causeway with fantastic views of Downtown Miami across the bay.

Enjoy These Bars in Miami Beach All Summer Long!

Several new bars and restaurants have sprung up as a result of the growing popularity of craft cocktails. The question is how can you narrow down your options when there are so many to choose from? Here are a few ideas, some of which you may already be familiar with.

The Broken Shaker

The Broken Shaker on Indian Creek began as a pop-up bar in 2012 before rapidly expanding to become one of Miami Beach’s most popular hangouts. Its drink menu changes seasonally and is crafted with only the freshest ingredients. There are also a variety of small plates to choose from, such as the Cuban sandwich or Korean chicken fingers. All of this is enhanced by the tranquil atmosphere of its backyard sanctuary.

Clevelander South Beach

On Ocean Drive, you will find The Clevelander South Beach. As the sun sets, the action intensifies; feel the adrenaline on the dance floor while drinking a cocktail and admiring the breathtaking cityscapes. It is also an excellent venue to watch sporting events on its massive LED screen.

Mac’s Club Deuce

Mac’s Club Deuce is a Miami Beach institution where you can play pool, listen to music on the jukebox, and have a wonderful time. The bar has preserved its long-standing traditions, such as two-for-one beverages from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., since its inception in the 1960s.

The Best Brunch Spots in Miami

Brunch has become an essential meal of the weekend for Miami residents — and, when done properly, the most enjoyable. While these weekend gatherings can range from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the restaurant, Miami has enough options to allow you to get up early or sleep in. Here are a few of our favorite brunch spots in Miami.

Icebox Cafe

For more than two decades, this Miami Beach institution has been a favored neighborhood dining place for its excellent brunch. Here, a modern American menu with global influences that includes homemade granola, guava-filled french toast, and lemon ricotta pancakes for the restaurant’s weekend brunch. Bottomless bloody Marys, mimosas, and rosé are all available for two hours. Brunch is offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Glass and Vine

The Coconut Grove restaurant in the center of Peacock Park, which features one of the city’s top outdoor patios, has upped its brunch game with weekend brunch every day of the week. Toast Monday with a glass of bubbly and savory brunch favorites like surf-and-turf eggs benedict and a chicken-topped mediterranean salad, as well as a dulce de leche belgian waffle and cornflake-crusted french toast. Brunch is provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Pinch Kitchen + Bar

Enter Pinch, where the menu consists of an eclectic collection of mismatched pieces that, when combined, make a delightful meal. Start with the “K-Town” kimchi-spiked guacamole, then move on to steak and eggs, fried chicken, guava-stuffed french toast, chicken ‘n’ waffles, or a cold smoked salmon sandwich. Don’t forget about the famous Pinch burger. Brunch is offered from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Joia Beach

During Joia Beach’s Sunday Funday weekend brunch, guests can expect a party atmosphere. Guests seated in the beach-themed dining area will be treated to rosé and magnums of champagne, all while being entertained by live DJs and dancing. Waffles, filet mignon and eggs as well as a smoked salmon bagel tower are all on the brunch menu. Sunday brunch is provided from noon until 5 p.m.

South Florida’s Luxury Real Estate Markets Are Hotter than Ever

The shortage of luxury homes and condos in South Florida has hit a record low of 7,906 units in the first quarter of this year, according to recently published reports. This is a decrease from the 2017-2019 average of 27,000 units. However, sales are red-hot.

Despite the low supply of available properties, the first quarter witnessed overall sales of more than $11.8 billion, a $1.9 billion increase over the previous quarter. Some luxury markets hit all-time highs. According to data produced by Miller for Douglas Elliman’s Elliman Report, the top five luxury real estate markets in the area accounted for about 45 percent of all regional sales volume, or nearly $5.4 billion.

With 17 closings and an average price of over $17.9 million, Miami Beach, Barrier Islands, was the report’s second most expensive luxury single-family house market. The average price per square foot was $2,766, down from the previous quarter’s high of $2,835 per square foot. The market’s total sales volume at all price levels was about $2.9 billion, second only to the Miami Mainland market’s $3.9 billion in sales.

Major Outdoor Events Are Returning to Miami Beach

The World Polo League Beach Polo tournament has returned to South Beach from April 23 to 25.

Due to the new COVID-19 vaccine rollouts, many large outdoor events are returning to Miami Beach. The 2021 Miami Open,  the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and now the World Polo League Beach Polo Tournament have all returned.

The tournament has been on a hiatus since the COVID-19 pandemic and was understandably canceled last year.

However, even with the return of these major events, they are not looking quite the same as they once did. Limited capacity has been a mandatory policy to follow, along with social distancing and facemasks. At the World Polo League Tournament the VIP section was sold on a table-only basis.

With reopening comes added pressure. World Polo League Beach Polo founder, Tito Gaudenzi says, “Since the very day we decided to postpone the event last year, we always kept working and preparing for all eventualities of bringing it back,” and “With constant communication with our players, the teams, our sponsors, the city, and the state, that’s what has allowed us to be as prepared as we are.”

Organizations understand that while they are open and running again, they have to take extra measures to not only bring the events back but bring them back “with bigger and better players and more set up,” says Gaudenzi.

Blackstone International Realty, LLC provides buyers, sellers, and renters with access to exceptional properties – both on and off the market – in the Miami Beach luxury real estate market, and throughout South Florida. Each agent is thoroughly trained to provide clients with exceptional service, competency, and professionalism. Popular South Florida Show Returns to Miami Beach This Year

Some good news is afoot for those wishing to enjoy some outdoor events in Miami Beach again. After being gone last year for obvious reasons, this year will mark the return of the Hyundai Air & Sea Show in Miami Beach, albeit with some changes to ensure social distancing and a safe experience for everyone.

Along with seating spread six feet apart, there will also be the option of how to watch the event. For example, there is the choice of enjoying the show from your private cabana or under an umbrella on a blanket, which involves all five branches of the US Military and first responder services. There’s also a less costly seating area where you get your room while also getting exclusive discounts. If you’d rather not deal with having to explore Ocean Drive for a drink or bite, this may be an option worth exploring.

During the Hyundai Air & Sea Show, the individuals, technology, and vehicles from all five branches of the US military, along with the country’s police, firefighters, and first responder services, are included in “The Greatest Show Above the Earth®”. On the gorgeous shores of Miami Beach, this event spanning two days is an outstanding experience featuring offshore motorboat shows, intense water activities, an adventure zone, a military show village, and so much more.

Appropriately enough, the Hyundai Air & Sea Show in Miami Beach will take place over Memorial Day weekend. If you’re looking for a place where you can watch all of the action, you may wish to look into Continuum in South Beach.

Grab a South Florida Taco

A food with near-ubiquitous appeal is tacos. The traditional Mexican dish typically made using corn or wheat tortilla stuffed with a filling remains a popular dish and there are numerous ways to get creative about what to put inside. If you’d rather not make some at home, South Florida has lots of great spots to enjoy a taco near Continuum in South Beach.

Let’s kick things off right here in Miami Beach, in the North Beach area to precise. It’s here where you’ll find Taquiza on Ocean Terrace. Overlooking the water, customers have the option of taco options like pastor, tongue, and chicken found on blue masa corn tortillas made by hand. In fact, the tortillas are so beloved, several Miami Beach restaurants have come to rely on them for their own dishes.

Heading to South Beach, you’ll eventually arrive at Bodega Taqueria y Tequila on 16th Street. As suggested by its name, it is part taqueria and also has a “hidden” bar in case you wish to enjoy some tequila drinks following the taco meal.

The people that brought you the acclaimed Broken Shaker and other South Florida favorites are also the ones behind Taqueria Hoja in Miami. The dishes are by chef Alex Chang and they include burritos, quesadillas, and of course tacos, all of them available with several different toppings. Pair the food with some good old-fashioned soda, beer, or margaritas.

Just a few blocks west of Taqueria Hoja is El Primo Red Tacos on Flagler Street, with tacos that seem to come straight from Tijuana and already have a rabid west coast Instagram following. Beef birria tacos and quesadillas are available, along with other interesting alternatives like birria ramen and consumme. Pair the food with some tequila and mezcal shots.

What are some of your favorite taco places?
