The Best Brunch Spots in Miami

Brunch has become an essential meal of the weekend for Miami residents — and, when done properly, the most enjoyable. While these weekend gatherings can range from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., depending on the restaurant, Miami has enough options to allow you to get up early or sleep in. Here are a few of our favorite brunch spots in Miami.

Icebox Cafe

For more than two decades, this Miami Beach institution has been a favored neighborhood dining place for its excellent brunch. Here, a modern American menu with global influences that includes homemade granola, guava-filled french toast, and lemon ricotta pancakes for the restaurant’s weekend brunch. Bottomless bloody Marys, mimosas, and rosé are all available for two hours. Brunch is offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Glass and Vine

The Coconut Grove restaurant in the center of Peacock Park, which features one of the city’s top outdoor patios, has upped its brunch game with weekend brunch every day of the week. Toast Monday with a glass of bubbly and savory brunch favorites like surf-and-turf eggs benedict and a chicken-topped mediterranean salad, as well as a dulce de leche belgian waffle and cornflake-crusted french toast. Brunch is provided from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day.

Pinch Kitchen + Bar

Enter Pinch, where the menu consists of an eclectic collection of mismatched pieces that, when combined, make a delightful meal. Start with the “K-Town” kimchi-spiked guacamole, then move on to steak and eggs, fried chicken, guava-stuffed french toast, chicken ‘n’ waffles, or a cold smoked salmon sandwich. Don’t forget about the famous Pinch burger. Brunch is offered from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Joia Beach

During Joia Beach’s Sunday Funday weekend brunch, guests can expect a party atmosphere. Guests seated in the beach-themed dining area will be treated to rosé and magnums of champagne, all while being entertained by live DJs and dancing. Waffles, filet mignon and eggs as well as a smoked salmon bagel tower are all on the brunch menu. Sunday brunch is provided from noon until 5 p.m.

South Florida’s Luxury Real Estate Markets Are Hotter than Ever

The shortage of luxury homes and condos in South Florida has hit a record low of 7,906 units in the first quarter of this year, according to recently published reports. This is a decrease from the 2017-2019 average of 27,000 units. However, sales are red-hot.

Despite the low supply of available properties, the first quarter witnessed overall sales of more than $11.8 billion, a $1.9 billion increase over the previous quarter. Some luxury markets hit all-time highs. According to data produced by Miller for Douglas Elliman’s Elliman Report, the top five luxury real estate markets in the area accounted for about 45 percent of all regional sales volume, or nearly $5.4 billion.

With 17 closings and an average price of over $17.9 million, Miami Beach, Barrier Islands, was the report’s second most expensive luxury single-family house market. The average price per square foot was $2,766, down from the previous quarter’s high of $2,835 per square foot. The market’s total sales volume at all price levels was about $2.9 billion, second only to the Miami Mainland market’s $3.9 billion in sales.

Why Location is So Important in Florida Real Estate?

Due to the increased demand for condominiums, purchasing a luxury condo can be a profitable investment, as condos provide a high return on investment. However, a condo with a poor location on the market is unlikely to give you the best value for your money.

When purchasing a luxury condo, the location is quite important. It’s the one constant about a property, and it can either add or subtract to the value of the unit. For example, if a condo is located in an area that is seeing industrial expansion, it will most likely increase in value over the following several years as more investors, entrepreneurs and job-seekers relocate to the region. Notably, remote work expansion, low mortgage rates, low taxes, along with a luxurious lifestyle, have all led to a surge in South Florida’s real estate market.

The ease of access to a condo’s location is another factor to consider. It should be close to major highways and public transportation, and preferably in a neighborhood with attractive public areas and landscapes. Take into account the particular lot location as well, as future neighbors such as commercial properties, new parks and other housing possibilities, among other things, may have an impact on the condo’s value.

One of the most sought-after condominiums in South Florida is the Continuum in South Beach. This resort-style condominium is located on 100 South Pointe Drive in the prestigious South of Fifth (SOFI) district, close to award-winning restaurants, boutiques and clubs, as well as the city’s world-famous beaches. Not to mention the breathtaking views of the city, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

What to Consider in the Resale Value of a Luxury Condo

Due to the increased demand for condominiums, purchasing a luxury condo can be a profitable investment, as condos provide a high return on investment. Here are a few things to consider when investing in a luxury condo.

In the Miami condo market, different floor plans have varying resale values. Larger floor plans typically have the most resale value. Even individuals who are single may choose a larger apartment with a separate office, den or guest bedroom. This as the demand for pure one-bedroom apartments is lower than larger units. Similarly, there are very few top penthouse apartments in South Florida, which keeps the demand higher, even during a downturn in the market. If you want to maximize the value of your Miami condo when it comes time to sell, you should purchase as much space as your budget allows.

If you buy a condo in a high-rise building, the floor on which you live has an impact on the resale value. The higher the floor, the better the resale value is usually. Residents of luxury apartment buildings in Miami desire panoramic views of the cityscape, Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, which are often uninterrupted from higher floors. Even if you buy a property on a lower floor with wonderful views, there’s a chance that another developer will build something close that will block the view.

It’s no surprise that Continuum in South Beach is one of the most sought-after luxury condos in the area. 100 South Pointe Drive in the South of Fifth (SOFI) district is home to a slew of award-winning restaurants, boutiques and clubs, as well as the city’s world-renowned beaches. With 318 units, one to five bedroom condos and penthouses ranging from 1,200 to 5,000 square feet, Continuum offers a diverse range of living possibilities.

Miami Beach Ranks High on TripAdvisor

Countless people have come to depend on TripAdvisor’s thousands of reviews and recommendations. When you need some guidance on the best spots, the American travel and restaurant website has become a trusted source.

One of the latest lists of TripAdvisor ranks the top restaurants in the U.S. There are a number of those restaurants right here in Florida, including several in Miami Beach, if it is to be believed. Eight separate restaurants in Florida made an appearance, five of them on the famous island. Fine dining, fast-casual, and regular dining are among the restaurant types.

The Italian-themed Pane & Vino came in first for everyday dining. The 11th Street Diner, known for its Art Deco design, is only a few places lower in fourth place. As for fine dining, José Andrés, a highly regarded Spanish restaurant nestled in the trendy SLS South Beach, is the only South Florida eatery to earn a mention, ranking tenth place. And when it comes to fast-casual dining, head over to Shake Shack, which won the category’s second place.

Did you go to any of those places mentioned in the list of TripAdvisor? What are some of your favorite places for dining in Miami Beach and South Beach?

Blackstone International Realty, LLC provides buyers, sellers, and renters with the access to exceptional properties – both on and off the market – in the Miami Beach luxury real estate market, and throughout South Florida. A New Miami Beach Hotel Is Soon to Open

Miami Beach will soon be receiving another taste of South America when the Lennox Hotel Miami Beach makes its stylish debut this summer on Collins Avenue. A project by the similarly named Argentinian hotel group Lennox Hotels, the building, will occupy the home of the Peter Miller Hotel, a building found in the Historic District.

In keeping with Miami Beach’s Art Deco flair, the Lennox Hotel will boast a classic architecture yet still modern architecture. Inside of the building there will be over 100 guest rooms, thirteen of which will boast a feature commonly found in upscale luxury condos: wraparound balconies. Each of these rooms features interior design courtesy of designer, architect, and Argentinian Juan Ciavarell, who is also responsible for curating the artwork.

A major feature of the Lennox Hotel will be its swimming pool located inside the courtyard designed in a Mediterranean style. Future guests will be able to sunbathe and there will also be a cocktail bar located by the poolside for some fun and great drinks.

The Lennox Hotel Miami Beach is expected to open next month and is only one of the many projects happening in the barrier island and beyond. Are you excited to spend a few nights at this upcoming hotel?

Michelin Starred Sushi Is Coming to South Beach

Back in the 1980s, a pair named George Yuji Koshoji and Carlos Augusto Carvalho met in São Paulo, Brazil, became acquaintances, and decided to join forces to open a sushi restaurant called Kosushi. Now, this may not seem all that impressive until you realize that in a country where just eighteen of the restaurants have received a prestigious Michelin star, Kosushi has managed the astounding feat of scoring a star four times in a row! Besides the taste of the food, it has earned a reputation for the meticulous attention placed on how a plate is served to make it look like a work of art, albeit an edible one.

If you can’t make it to Brazil, no worries. Kosushi is getting ready to debut its Michelin-approved menu for the first time in the United States, and it has chosen none other than South Beach as the inaugural location! The 3,300+ square foot eatery will accommodate up to 66 guests and it will feature a unique wooden cube ceiling to add to the ambiance.

There will also be a sushi bar for up to ten people and a cocktail bar with drinks devised by mixologist Marcio Silva, a fellow Brazilian.
Kosushi is tentatively scheduled to open in the South of Fifth area next month on the 17th, just in time to coincide with the 31st anniversary of the original Kosushi in São Paulo.
